WHAT DOES THINK NUMBERS DO?

Think Numbers are finance specialists who can help transform organisations finance effectiveness.  They provide services to help in building a finance change program.  This includes establishing a strategy, roadmap and implementation of lasting system, training and process solutions.  Think Numbers are different as its people are real Finance Professionals with a strong systems experience.

Think Numbers specialise in finance system optimization.  In some cases this is setting up a brand new system from scratch in any type of platform ie Microsoft, SQL, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, JDE etc... In other cases you have a maturing system but there are annoying bugs and inaccuracies that exist that people lose confidence in the figures due to system or processing issues.  We can help to review this and make recommendations so that your Finance Systems are polished and running efficiently.

WHAT TYPES OF INDUSTRIES DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE?

Think Numbers has been engaged in a number of projects across Australia over the past 10 years.  These include medium sized organisations as well as some of the largest well known brands in Australia.  In particularly some of the key projects have been within Engineering, Telecommunications, Financial Services, FMCG & Logistics.

What we find however is that Finance systems and processes can be very similar across different industries.  There is a different key focus depending on the industry and what are the key drivers for that particular business.

WHAT IS AN OUTCOME FROM AN EXPERIENCE WITH ONE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS?

Growing medium sized Financial Services business had double digit growth and never gave too much thought into its finance systems.  This was until the finance team couldn't keep up with the level of complexity in its systems.  Their full time effort was looking backwards performing reconciliations and preparing reports.

Think Numbers engaged a team to work with this business to build out a broad change program with a strong focus on optimising its finance database and implementing a new ERP system.

This project has resulted in setting up this organisation with a strong platform for growth, freeing up the finance team significantly to focus on improvements to the business.  The business has ironed out many of the growth pains and is positioned perfected to take on more business and/or modify any of its business model without its entire systems and processes from breaking.

HOW LONG DOES A TYPICAL ENGAGEMENT LAST WITH THINK NUMBERS?

We don't typically focus on short term engagements, mainly because realistically implementing changes to do with Finance is not an overnight exercise.  We believe in building the relationships and demonstrating a much larger amount of value by working on a project that will make a lasting impact.  The projects we focus on range from around 6 months upwards.  However, where ever there are quick wins that will deliver immediate value, of course, this will be a priority if required.

In our experience, it takes time to understand the business and all of the intricacies that go with how its financial systems, processes and practices have evolved.  We prefer to spend time with our customers to fully understand and work with them to drive lasting change.
